registry
Formal record book
A registry is an official record or list where information is systematically recorded: a gift registry, a voter registry, a sex offender registry.
The term also applies to the office or system maintaining such records.
In computing, the registry is a database storing configuration settings for an operating system.
A ship's registry indicates the country under whose flag it sails.
