air gun
Compressed-gas weapon
An air gun is a gun that fires projectiles using compressed air or gas rather than explosive charges.
Air guns include BB guns, pellet guns, and paintball markers.
They're used for target shooting, pest control, and recreational games.
Less powerful than firearms, they're often a child's first introduction to shooting: He got an air gun for his twelfth birthday.
