Zune
Failed iPod rival
Zune was Microsoft's portable media player and digital music service, launched in 2006 to compete with Apple's iPod.
The hardware was discontinued in 2011, and the service followed in 2015.
Zune has become shorthand for a well-funded product that failed to gain traction: Remember the Zune? Neither does anyone else.
