Windows Phone
Microsoft mobile platform
Windows Phone was Microsoft's mobile operating system, launched in 2010 as a successor to Windows Mobile.
It featured a distinctive tile-based interface but failed to gain significant market share against iOS and Android.
Microsoft discontinued the platform in 2017.
The term also refers to smartphones running this operating system: I still have my old Windows Phone in a drawer somewhere.
