Xerxes

Thermopylae's Persian victor

Xerxes is a Persian name borne by two ancient kings, most famously Xerxes I (reigned 486–465 BCE), who invaded Greece and whose forces were defeated at Salamis.

The name appears in biblical and classical contexts and occasionally as a given name chosen for its historical gravitas: He named his son Xerxes after the Persian emperor.
