A vertex is a point where lines, edges, or curves meet.
In geometry, it's where the sides of an angle converge, or where edges of a polygon or polyhedron join: the vertices of a triangle, the vertex of a cone.
More broadly, vertex means the highest point or apex: the vertex of a mountain.
