vertical line
Perpendicular to horizontal
A vertical line runs straight up and down, perpendicular to the horizon.
In coordinate geometry, vertical lines have undefined slope and are expressed as x = a constant.
The term distinguishes from horizontal (side to side) and diagonal orientations: Draw a vertical line through the center of the page.
