Sundance refers to several distinct things unified by the name.

The Sun Dance is a sacred ceremony among Plains Indigenous peoples of North America, involving fasting, prayer, and sometimes piercing rituals.

Sundance is also a town in Wyoming, the Sundance Kid's namesake—the outlaw who rode with Butch Cassidy.

Most commonly today, Sundance refers to the Sundance Film Festival, an annual independent film showcase in Utah founded by Robert Redford: Her documentary premiered at Sundance.
