Alleghenies

Pennsylvania mountain range

The Alleghenies are a mountain range in the eastern United States, part of the broader Appalachian system, stretching from Pennsylvania through West Virginia and Virginia.

The name refers both to the mountains themselves and the surrounding region: a cabin in the Alleghenies, folk traditions from the Alleghenies.

Also called the Allegheny Mountains.
