snowbelt

Heavy accumulation region

A snowbelt is a region that receives heavy snowfall, typically due to geographic features like proximity to large bodies of water.

In the United States, the term usually refers to areas along the Great Lakes that get lake-effect snow: Buffalo is in the snowbelt and averages over 90 inches a year.
