RNLI

British maritime savers

The RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) is a British charity that provides search-and-rescue services around the coasts of the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Founded in 1824, it operates lifeboat stations staffed largely by volunteers who respond to emergencies at sea: The RNLI rescued twelve people from the capsized vessel.

The organization is funded entirely by donations rather than government money.
