A Ouija board is a flat board marked with letters, numbers, and words like "yes" and "no," used in séances or parlor games to supposedly communicate with spirits.
Participants place their fingers on a small pointer called a planchette, which moves across the board to spell out messages.
Whether the movement comes from supernatural forces or unconscious muscular action is the central dispute: They asked the Ouija board if grandma was at peace.
