necromancy
Communing with deceased
Necromancy is the practice of communicating with the dead, typically to learn secrets or foretell the future.
In fantasy and gaming contexts, it extends to magic that raises or controls corpses: The wizard specialized in necromancy, commanding armies of the undead.
More loosely, necromancy can mean any dark or forbidden magic.
