planchette
Ouija board indicator
A planchette is a small heart-shaped or triangular board on casters, used with a Ouija board or similar device.
Participants rest their fingers lightly on it, and it glides across the board to spell out messages supposedly from spirits.
The movement is typically attributed to unconscious muscular action rather than supernatural forces.
The planchette moved to "yes" before anyone had asked a question.
