Middle-earth

Hobbits' fantasy realm

Middle-earth is the fictional continent where most of J.R.R.

Tolkien's fantasy narratives unfold, including *The Hobbit* and *The Lord of the Rings*.

The name derives from an Old English term for the world of humans, situated between heaven and hell.

In popular usage, Middle-earth evokes a realm of elves, dwarves, hobbits, and epic quests: We spent the weekend binge-watching Middle-earth movies.
