Loch Ness Monster
Highland lake beast
The Loch Ness Monster is a legendary creature said to inhabit Loch Ness, a deep freshwater lake in the Scottish Highlands.
Affectionately called Nessie, the creature is typically depicted as a large aquatic animal with a long neck, often compared to a plesiosaur.
Despite numerous claimed sightings and photographs since the 1930s, no credible evidence has confirmed its existence: They spent the afternoon looking for the Loch Ness Monster.
The name has become shorthand for any elusive creature or thing people search for but never find.
