Loch Ness

Scottish cryptid waters

Loch Ness is a large, deep freshwater lake in the Scottish Highlands, famous for alleged sightings of a mysterious creature—the Loch Ness Monster, or "Nessie." The lake itself is notable for its dark, peat-stained waters and considerable depth, but in common usage Loch Ness typically evokes the legendary monster rather than the geography.
