LAMP
Open-source web stack
A lamp is a device that produces light.
Originally oil-burning vessels with wicks, lamps now typically use electricity: table lamp, floor lamp, desk lamp.
The word extends to the bulb itself: The lamp burned out.
To lamp someone (slang) is to hit them hard or to stare intensely at them.
