Git
Developers' version control
Git is a distributed version control system used by software developers to track changes in source code.
Created by Linus Torvalds in 2005, it has become the dominant tool for collaborative coding: Push your changes to the Git repository, I need to learn Git for this project.
The name was chosen by Torvalds, who jokingly called it after the British slang for a stupid person. (Lowercase git is British slang for a foolish person.)
