Inglourious Basterds
Inglourious Basterds is a 2009 Quentin Tarantino film about a group of Jewish-American soldiers hunting Nazis in occupied France during World War II.
The deliberately misspelled title has become shorthand for stylized revenge fantasy or revisionist historical fiction that rewrites traumatic events with cathartic violence: It's an Inglourious Basterds approach to the subject.
