scalping
Reselling at markup
Scalping is cutting or tearing the scalp from a person's head—historically practiced as a war trophy or proof of killing.
The term extends to buying tickets or goods at regular prices and reselling them at inflated rates: Scalpers were selling concert tickets for triple the face value.
In trading, scalping means making rapid transactions for small profits.
To scalp someone figuratively is to exploit or cheat them.
