gore
Fabric triangle insert
Gore is blood that has been shed, especially when clotted or dried—the stuff of violence and horror films.
As a verb, to gore is to pierce with a horn or tusk: The bull gored the matador.
A gore is also a triangular piece of fabric used in making skirts, sails, or umbrellas to add fullness. (Capitalized Gore is a surname.)
