ISS
Orbiting research station
The ISS is the International Space Station, a modular space station in low Earth orbit serving as a research laboratory and international collaboration between NASA, Roscosmos, and other space agencies.
First launched in 1998, it has been continuously occupied since 2000: Astronauts aboard the ISS conducted experiments in microgravity. (Lowercase iss is not a standard word.)
