daddy issues
Father-related psychological wounds
Daddy issues is pop psychology slang for emotional or relationship problems supposedly stemming from a troubled relationship with one's father—typically absent, abusive, or emotionally unavailable.
The term is applied almost exclusively to women, often dismissively, to explain attraction to older men, neediness, or promiscuity: She's dating a guy twice her age—classic daddy issues.
The phrase trivializes complex psychology and is frequently used to mock or diminish women's behavior.
