Cassini
Ringed planet explorer
Cassini refers to the Cassini-Huygens spacecraft, a joint NASA-ESA mission that orbited Saturn from 2004 to 2017, sending back unprecedented images of the planet, its rings, and moons.
The mission was named for Giovanni Cassini, the 17th-century Italian-French astronomer who discovered several of Saturn's moons and the gap in Saturn's rings now called the Cassini Division.
