agitprop
Activist artistic messaging
Agitprop is political propaganda, especially that which aims to agitate and mobilize rather than simply inform.
The term originated in Soviet Russia, where dedicated departments produced art, theater, and literature advancing communist ideology.
Now it describes any overtly political creative work, often dismissively: The film was entertaining despite its agitprop tendencies.
The word combines agitation and propaganda.
