Gabon

Equatorial African republic

Gabon is a country on the west coast of Central Africa, bordered by Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, and the Republic of the Congo.

Once a French colony, it gained independence in 1960 and remains largely francophone.

Despite oil wealth, most Gabonese live in poverty.

The capital is Libreville.
