Chad
Niger's eastern neighbor
Chad is a landlocked country in north-central Africa, or a masculine given name of Old English origin.
The name enjoyed popularity in the United States during the 1970s and 80s, making it something of a cultural marker for that generation. (Lowercase chad is punched-out paper debris or internet slang for a confident man.)
