Comoros

Madagascar's island neighbor

Comoros is a small island nation in the Indian Ocean, located off the eastern coast of Africa between Mozambique and Madagascar.

The country comprises three main volcanic islands—Grande Comore, Mohéli, and Anjouan—though a fourth island, Mayotte, remains a French territory despite Comorian claims.

The Comoros has experienced numerous coups since independence.
