Breslau

Oder River city

Breslau is the German name for Wrocław, a city in southwestern Poland.

The city was part of Germany until 1945, when it was transferred to Poland after World War II and its German population expelled.

The German name still appears in historical contexts: My grandmother was born in Breslau before the war.
