Kraków

Poland's former capital

Kraków is Poland's second-largest city and former royal capital, located in the south along the Vistula River.

Its medieval old town and Jewish quarter survived World War II largely intact, making it a major cultural and tourist destination.

The city is home to one of Europe's oldest universities, Jagiellonian, founded in 1364.

Also spelled Cracow in English.
