partitions
Walls between spaces
Partitions are divisions that separate spaces or things into distinct parts.
A partition wall divides a room; a partition on a hard drive separates storage into logical sections.
The word works as both noun and verb: We partitioned the office into cubicles.
In history, partition often describes the division of countries: the partition of India.
