Bosnia-Herzegovina

Former Yugoslav republic

Bosnia-Herzegovina is a country in southeastern Europe, on the Balkan Peninsula.

It emerged from the breakup of Yugoslavia in the 1990s, accompanied by a devastating ethnic war among Bosniaks, Serbs, and Croats.

The hyphenated name reflects its two main regions: Bosnia in the north and Herzegovina in the south.

Also spelled Bosnia and Herzegovina.
