voxel
Volumetric image unit
A voxel is a unit of three-dimensional space, the 3D equivalent of a pixel.
Where pixels form flat images on screens, voxels represent points in a volume—used in medical imaging, scientific visualization, and certain video game graphics: The CT scan rendered the tumor as a cluster of voxels.
The term combines "volume" and "pixel."
