urethras
Bladder exit channels
Urethras is the plural of urethra, the tube that carries urine from the bladder out of the body.
In males, the urethra also conveys semen.
The word appears in medical and anatomical contexts: Catheters are inserted into urethras to drain the bladder.
The alternative plural urethrae is less common outside technical writing.
