enuresis
Uncontrolled bladder release
Enuresis is the medical term for involuntary urination, particularly bed-wetting.
It most commonly refers to children who wet the bed during sleep past the age when bladder control is typically established, usually around five or six years old.
Doctors distinguish between nocturnal enuresis (nighttime) and diurnal enuresis (daytime), with the nighttime variety being far more common.
The pediatrician said most cases of enuresis resolve on their own.
