micturition
Releasing liquid waste
Micturition is the medical term for urination—the act of emptying the bladder.
The word appears in clinical contexts where *urination* might seem too informal and *peeing* too casual: The patient reported increased frequency of micturition.
Outside medical settings, the word sounds unnecessarily technical.
