throwing-axe
Tossed bladed weapon
A throwing-axe is a lightweight axe designed to be hurled at a target rather than swung in hand.
The weapon has ancient origins in hunting and combat but survives mainly in recreational axe-throwing, now popular at dedicated venues: We spent Saturday night at a throwing-axe bar.
Also spelled throwing axe.
