Equine belly strap
A surcingle is a strap or belt that passes around a horse's body to hold a blanket, pack, or other equipment in place.
It encircles the animal's girth, securing items to the back without a full saddle.
In equestrian training, a surcingle provides attachment points for side reins or other training aids: She fastened the surcingle before lungeing the horse.
