noble steed
Knight's proud mount
A noble steed is a horse, especially one imagined as brave, loyal, and worthy of a knight or hero.
The phrase belongs to fairy tales, fantasy, and deliberately archaic or humorous speech: The prince mounted his noble steed and rode off to rescue the princess.
Used ironically, it can refer to any mode of transportation: My noble steed is a 2003 Honda Civic.
