first responders
Initial crisis help
First responders are emergency personnel who arrive first at the scene of a crisis—police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and emergency medical technicians.
The term gained prominence after the September 11 attacks, honoring those who rush toward danger while others flee: First responders worked through the night at the disaster site.
