fireteam
Small tactical unit
A fireteam is the smallest tactical unit in military organization, typically three to five soldiers operating together in combat.
The term comes from their function as a coordinated unit of firepower.
Fireteams combine to form squads, which combine to form platoons.
The concept has spread to video games, where players form fireteams for cooperative missions: We need a fourth for our fireteam.
