snowplough

Winter road clearer

A snowplough is a vehicle or blade attachment that clears snow from roads and paths, pushing it to the side.

In skiing, the snowplough (or snowplow) is a beginner's braking technique where the ski tips point together and the tails spread apart, forming a wedge shape: She snowploughed down the bunny slope.

The spelling snowplow is American.
