seven deadly sins
Mortal spiritual transgressions
The seven deadly sins are a traditional Christian list of fundamental vices: pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth.
Medieval theology treated these as the root causes of all other sins.
The concept remains culturally familiar as shorthand for basic human failings: Procrastination is my personal deadly sin.
