seven virtues
Moral excellence septet
The seven virtues are moral qualities traditionally opposed to the seven deadly sins in Christian teaching.
The cardinal virtues—prudence, justice, temperance, and fortitude—derive from classical philosophy.
The theological virtues—faith, hope, and charity (or love)—come from scripture.
Together they represent the foundation of virtuous living: She tried to model the seven virtues in her daily life.
