sense organs

Biological input devices

Sense organs are the parts of the body that detect stimuli from the environment and transmit information to the nervous system.

The classic five—eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and skin—correspond to sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch, though the body has additional sensors for balance, temperature, pain, and internal states.

The sense organs send signals to the brain for interpretation.
