efferent
Leading away from
Efferent describes nerves or vessels that carry signals or substances away from a central point—typically away from the brain or spinal cord toward muscles and organs.
The opposite of afferent.
In anatomy, efferent neurons transmit motor commands: Efferent pathways control voluntary movement.
The term applies similarly to blood vessels carrying blood away from an organ.
