resting-place

Where journeys end

A resting-place is where something or someone comes to rest, temporarily or permanently.

It often refers to a grave or tomb: We visited my grandmother's final resting-place.

More broadly, any spot where one pauses to rest qualifies: The hikers found a resting-place beneath the old oak.
