duvet

Fluffy bed topper

A duvet is a soft, thick bed covering filled with down, feathers, or synthetic material, used in place of blankets and a top sheet.

Common in European bedding traditions, duvets typically have removable covers for washing: I need to change the duvet cover.

Americans sometimes call them comforters, though duvets are usually fluffier and designed with covers.
