ream

Five hundred sheets

A ream is a quantity of paper, traditionally 480 sheets but now usually 500.

The word extends to large quantities generally: She produced reams of documentation.

To ream is to enlarge or shape a hole with a rotating tool.

In vulgar slang, to ream someone is to penetrate them anally, or figuratively to criticize harshly: The boss reamed him out for the mistake.
